Swing through pristine rainforest right on the border of the
Corcovado National Park!
We drive you through the village of Agujas and bring you on an
adventurous ride to our Canopy station in Los Planes. The Canopy tour
grounds form part of the Golfo Dulce Forest Reserve.
For fifteen years the owner has reserved this land to conservation.
Once you are fully equipped with the finest PETZL safety gear (harnesses,
carabineers, gloves and helmets), our canopy guides will take you to the
first of thirteen platforms located only 50 meters behind the Canopy station.
Our experienced guides will do all the carabineers-work for you, so you
just lean back in your harness and enjoy traversing the canopy of the
rainforest on eleven steel cables. The cables range from 100 meters to
400 meter in length. We are proud to be one of the largest Canopy tour
operators in Costa Rica!
The first part of the Canopy tour consists of eight platforms. The first
four platforms are in secondary rainforest, which takes you through
young, lower trees and bushes that grew fifteen years ago. After the
forth platform, you will enter the dense, primary tropical forest with
its huge old trees. Have a look down on the different layers of the
rainforest - have a look up to the impressing tree crowns or have a
close look to its leaves, roots, spines and bark.
After the eighth platform and a short break you will walk approximately
200 meters to where the second part, consisting of five platforms,
starts. With good eyes and a bit of luck you could spot sloths,
scarlet macaws, toucans, snakes, monkeys, or many other forest
animals.
Finally, the longest and fastest cable will bring you out of the
forest where you will enjoy an impressive view on the ocean around Drake
Bay.
Crossing a 51 meter long suspension bridge will assure a great finish of
your tour!
Duration: 2-3 hours
