What's the best type of luggage?
We suggest you pack everything in a waterproof bag, as your trip to the camp, over water, may prove moist at times.
 

What are the necessities?
• Lightweight, loose-fitting shorts and t-shirts
• Bathing suits
• Towel
• Long-sleeve shirts and pants for horseback riding and evening
• Hat and sunglasses
• Comfortable hiking shoes (or boots) and socks
• Beach sandals
• Sun protective creams
• Bug repellant
• Flashlight, extra batteries
• Personal toiletries
• Camera, binoculars, VCR (recommended, not required
 

Is your water drinkable?
We have plently of good drinking water from our own pristine spring.
 

How is the weather at Corcovado?
The lush rainforests of Corcovado are hot and balmy during the day, cooler at night. Expect the occasional refreshing shower in the afternoons during the summer season (December to May). "Winter" in Costa Rica is also known as the "Green Season," when rain gradually increases from May until December. The Corcovado Adventures Tent Camp is open all year.
 

Do you have electricity?
We have a diesel powered generator which is turned on at night for about 2-3 hours
During the day, we run on a 12 volt system.
If you bring 110 Volt appliances, they will only work during the time the generator is on.
Personal flashlights are a must to get around the camp at night.
 

How about first aid kits?
The Corcovado Adventures Tent Camp keeps a complete first aid kit including antivenom for snake bites. Necessary personal medicines should be carried by each individual in their luggage.
 

What should I do with my valuables?
We recommend that you keep your valuables in a strong box at your San Jose hotel.
 

Is there Internet available?
Yes.
We can provide you with an satellite Internet connection if you require it.
You can bring your laptop at your own risk. Our connection is good enough to check your email and moderate browsing.
 

How much luggage should I bring?
Please minimize your luggage !
Before departing from San Jose to the camp leave all unnecessary items at your hotel.
There is limited space on the planes and boats (12 kilos / 25 pounds per person) and you will be much more comfortable if you travel light.
 

What gear should I bring?
Rain gear - light jacket - light trousers - shorts - one long sleeved shirt - short sleeve shirt - T-shirt - beach wear - sun block - beach towel - snorkeling gear - hat - sunglasses - insect repellent - flashlight - camera - binoculars - good hiking shoes (light boots or tennis shoes with good non slip soles ) - flash light - Water tight luggage.
